Meet Kayland

I am a Teacher Self Care Coach and I empower educators by helping them improve their self-care practices and boundary setting so that they are able to combat burnout. I teach educators how to focus on their overall wellness through reflection and empowerment strategies. 


With 8+ years as an educator, mentor, and self-care research, I have created a true understanding of the benefits of self-care and the importance of including these practices in a consistent manner. In addition, I am passionate about helping others set intentional and meaningful boundaries that help them with work-life balance. I was born and raised in a small town in Alabama. I have worked in the education field since 2014 and believe it or not, at my first official teaching job, I experienced burnout. I felt like I had failed because of my experience as a substitute teacher and long-term substitute, I thought that I was supposed to have it all together. Instead, I left work daily feeling ineffective, and inevitably I experienced burnout. 


After experiencing burnout, I recognized that I was not the only educator that struggled with work-life balance and prioritizing personal wellness. I decided to use my personal journey as an educator as a testimony to share with others so that they do not have to go through what I went through. I thrive myself on creating self-care practices that are proactive instead of reactive.
